I’ve never met a wildly successful pessimist.
Every successful person I’ve met who has built incredible wealth and business has one main thing in common:
They are an optimist.
Don’t get me wrong, they are aware of the world around them and aren’t oblivious to the hardships and dangers this world presents. But it’s not their main focus. They make the conscious decision every day to live a life of optimism.
I’ve spent a lot of time with people who have this mindset and have adopted it as my own.
Aside from not watching the news and limiting my time scrolling social media, there are a few things I do consistently that help me stay optimistic. I attribute these things to my success and I want you to know them.
Enjoy!
Focus on Gratitude – One of the most powerful tools I have used to become more optimistic is to focus on gratitude. By shifting my attention toward what I am thankful for, I have seen the world through a more positive lens.
Want to start doing this in your own life?
Start each day by writing down three things you’re grateful for. This simple practice can set a positive tone for the rest of your day.
Meditate – Quiet time is essential for creating more optimism in my life. Meditation is one of the best ways I have trained my mind to focus on the present moment. It’s also been instrumental in helping me limit negative thoughts.
Along with the traditional method of meditating, prayer and quiet study of scripture are two ways I meditate. It doesn’t have to be complete and total stillness to get the full benefits from it.
I encourage you, the reader, to set aside time each day to sit in peace.
If you’re new to meditation, start with just a few minutes and gradually increase the amount of time each day.
Surround Yourself with Positive People – Whether you like it or not, you are influenced by the people you spend time with. To stay optimistic, it’s important to surround yourself with positive people who uplift and inspire you. Find people who share your values and make you feel good about yourself.
Reframe Your Thoughts – One of the best strategies for becoming more optimistic is to reframe your thoughts. Instead of seeing challenges as obstacles, see them as opportunities for growth. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects of situations, focus on the positives.
Remember that your thoughts have a powerful impact on your reality.
If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that you are an entrepreneur at heart. A good entrepreneur owns the mindset of creating opportunities regardless of the circumstance.
I talked about this in detail on my YouTube channel a few years ago. Check out the video here.
Your thoughts are powerful, friends.
Make sure they are working for you and not against you.
You got this!
